Villain Body T Pose (Front)

Today I started creating a t-pose of the body of my villain. My villain is a plus size woman so I looked for a T-pose plus size character model to help me get an idea of how to design her. I used this picture as an idea of her shape.

I started by using the same T-pose template I used for Kit, my main character, but tried to draw around the template bigger, as my villain is plus size.

However, the body shape still didn't look right. The legs look a weird shape and she still isn't quite as big as I want her to be.

To try and make the body a more realistic shape, I have mapped out some key body points (joints, large bone areas) and then I am creating the body around that. Even though its not finished, I think it already looks a lot better this way.

I have the basic upper body shape now. However I am struggling to make the lower leg / calve area look right. I will make them look the best that I can right now, and start adding clothes / features for the head and upper body on a new layer. I am setting myself the task to research body structure and leg muscles, and to practice drawing them, so I can improve. Then I will redo the lower legs when my skills have improved.

After practicing drawing legs, I found I could draw the legs to an acceptable standard. There is still room for improvement but it meant I could carry on working on my character T pose. I drew and coloured the clothes based on the concept art I had already drawn.
