3D Modelling Moda Swine

Today I began preparation for making a 3d Model of Moda Swine. I exported the T pose and Side view as PNG files and imported them to Maya. I resized them so that they were both the same height and moved them to make a right angle - so I can model in the middle and see the front and the side while I am working.

To make them translucent I selected each image and changed the Alpha gain in the Attribute Editor. I then added them to a layer and called it 'imagereference' - changing the 3rd option in the layer display to R so that the images can't be selected when I am working on my model.
