What is a high to low poly bake?
A high to low poly bake is a type of texture baking. This is the process of transferring details from one model to another. In a high to low poly bake, it is the process of transferring the details from a high poly model onto a model with lower polys - this creates the illusion it has the same amount of detail as the high poly model, but without using as many polys, and therefore being better for adding to a game and making sure it runs smoothly. The 'bake' is the process of turning the polys from the details in the high poly model into a texture map and adding that texture map onto the other model. Changing the details into a texture map reduces the poly count.
